Rowing Performance Program

Wood & Iron provides remote injury prevention and year-round periodized performance strength and conditioning services to collegiate interscholastic rowing programs.

We have also partnered our advanced total body assessment system and individualized strength and conditioning performance progressions with Taylor Brown, the Div I Men’s Lightweight Rowing coach at UPenn to provide a comprehesive training system for elite individual rowers.

The Rowing Performance System

Phase 1 - A Comprehensive Movement Assessment

Wood & Iron uses an array of movement assessments from Functional Movement Systems, Titleist Performance Institute, and OnBaseUto build a unique profile of who you are as an athlete. These assessments, along with over 25 years of Rowing Sports Medicine and Performance experience, allow us to build a performance plan that is individualized and unique to your body and how you move.

Phase 2 - A Corrective Exercise Program

After learning about how your body moves and how you may have movement limitations or dysfunctions, you are given a list of exercises specifically designed to meet the needs of your unique body to eliminate restriction. This phase is designed to make you move better and feel better!

Phase 3 - An Integrative Fitness Program

Now that you are moving your best its time to lock that movement into place through a comprehensive warm-up, activation, and fitness program. This Phase utilizes all of the knowledge gained from our Movement Assessment, as well as our Strength, Fitness, Power, and Medical Assessments to challenge your body through bodyweight,resistance training, and work capacity.

Phase 4 - Elite Performance Program

Phase 4 is a professional grade periodized program that takes into account your personal goals, competitive season, tournaments, and off season to give you a year round individualized program to maximize your performance. This program include bi-weekly remote coaching meetings to make program adjustments based on your feedback and progress.
